Who's who

Hoppers is run by a team of committed and experienced volunteers. Let us introduce ourselves ... it's always good to put names to faces.

Susie Paddock

Chair

Rev Susie Paddock has been a trustee of Hoppers for around 30 years. She lives in Islington, North London and used to work for a church in Hackney. Susie is passionate about community engagement and development.

Mary Straw

Trustee

Mary Straw is a trustee at Hoppers because her farther Norry McCurry was instrumental in setting up Hoppers in it's current incarnation many years ago. He died 30 years ago and being a Hoppers trustee is her way of remembering him.

Ann Morrisy

Trustee

Ann Morisy lives in south London and has worked for the Church of England and the Methodist Church.

Ann is particularly interested in mission and community ministry as well as in urban issues and the often neglected issue of ageing and faith.

George Bush

Trustee

The Rev George Bush, Rector of St Mary-le-Bow untill his retirement in 2024. London-born, he trained for ordination at Ripon College Cuddesdon and briefly at United Theological College, Bangalore.

His academic interests spanned theology, history, canon law and history of art.

Susannah Strawson

Caretaker

Susannah lives in Five Oak Green, 5 minutes’ walk from Hoppers. She has lived in the village for 27 years with her husband Richard and they have been involved in various things at Hoppers for over 17 years, so it’s become a family concern! Susannah is a full-time mum keeping an eye on 4 children and Richard!
